Free Aid For Answers ("we," "us," or "our") is a free financial literacy quiz operated by Heath Income Tax, located in Santa Maria, CA. You can reach us at rob.heathincometax@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect minimal data to operate the quiz and track charitable impact:

• Session activity: When you play, we record quiz answers, selected charity, correct answer count, and session timestamps. This data is stored anonymously in our database and is not linked to your identity.
• Charity selection: The cause you choose per session is stored to aggregate donation totals. No personal identifier is attached.
• Technical data: Standard server and hosting logs may capture your IP address, browser type, and referring URL. This data is used solely for security and performance monitoring and is not sold or shared.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any payment information. No account or registration is required to use this Site.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data collected is used only to:

• Aggregate correct answer counts to calculate quarterly charitable donations
• Improve question quality and quiz performance
• Monitor for abuse or technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Site.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

This Site may use browser local storage to preserve your quiz session state (such as your current score or charity choice) within a single visit. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We may share anonymized, aggregated donation totals publicly (e.g., "1,200 correct answers this quarter supported the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County") but this contains no personally identifiable information.

Our database is hosted on Supabase. Their privacy practices are governed by the Supabase Privacy Policy. Our site is hosted on Netlify, governed by the Netlify Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous session data is retained for up to 24 months to support quarterly donation calculations and historical impact reporting. Technical server logs are retained for up to 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this Site, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we do not collect personal information that identifies you, most CCPA rights are not directly applicable. However, you may contact us at any time to ask what data, if any, is associated with your use of the Site, and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical precautions to protect data stored on our systems, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
